When arranging a subsequent funeral or internment into an existing grave there may already be a memorial in place. In the majority of cemeteries and churchyards this memorial will need to be removed prior to the digging of the grave. Your funeral director will usually arrange this on your behalf. Should you wish for us to remove the memorial just let your funeral director know when making arrangements and we will remove the memorial and store it safely until you are ready to have any further inscriptions added.
When it comes to adding a second inscription we can match nearly any computer, sand blasted, machine or hand carved font styles in matching depths, spacing and style. We can also restore existing inscriptions/designs to look like new. We offer free no obligation designs and quotes. We also fill in appropriate forms on your behalf.
If a memorial mason has removed a memorial on your behalf you are not obliged to use them for the additional inscription although there may be removal costs incurred.
Once we have discussed and agreed wording to be added to the memorial we will discuss a suitable date for installation. We will be able to provide a timescale based on grave settlement. Usually anywhere from 3 - 12 months but we will always discuss with you first if we feel the ground is not yet ready. As members of the RQMF (Register of Qualified Memorial Fixers) all fixing is done to the National Association of Memorial Masons code of working practice.
